I am a public health practitioner and researcher with over 15 years of experience in monitoring and evaluation for health systems strengthening, national capacity development, and informing evidence based policymaking. My interests center around methods for monitoring health systems and capacity building for implementing evaluation methods at the country level and my recent research concentrates on quality of care for maternal and newborn health. I have a Doctor of Public Health (DrPH) in International Health from the Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health.
My research has focused on improving maternal, newborn, and child health in low-resource settings with a focus on (1) efforts to improve the measurement of quality of care for maternal, newborn, and child health (MNCH) interventions, and (2) large-scale effectiveness evaluations of MNCH programs. I have collaborated with a variety of stakeholders such as Ministries of Health, WHO country offices, and local research institutions and provided technical assistance and capacity building to country teams to support the country policy and planning cycle. I have extensive experience in qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods study design, implementation, and analysis, as well as informing evidence-based policymaking.
